New Year... New Wines

I hope you are all having a great start to 2013!

I wanted you to know that this year will are getting some new and exciting wines in. We just got Chateau Mourchon Tradition and Grand Reserve Cotes du Rhone. These are great additions to our wines and would be really nice with a hearty beef stew, steak, BBQ or even some heavy cheese. We also got the Chateau Mourchon La Source which is a white blend also from Cotes du Rhone. la Source has a very aromatic nose and a lingering fresh taste on your tongue. This a great stand alone white or with chicken.

Chateau Marouine Cotes de Provence White wine is also new. Made from 100% Vermentino grapes I would gladly have this with a seafood dish. There is a nice flavor of white fruit and hints of almonds. This wine is refreshing, heady and generous.

Back on our shelves is Galante Cabernet Sauvignon Ranchero 2010. Galante exhibits rustic fruit with hints of leather and spice. It's aged in French Oak which softens tannins and rounds the wine. Great for steak night or burgers!

Slingshot is back in stock too!! Yay!! This Cabernet has red and black fruit, accented with tobacco, pepper, herbs and oak. This is a balanced wine with flavorful good length. Drink this wine anytime.... sitting by the fire, having dinner with friends or relaxing after a hard day at work.

Come in and ask for Carrie or Mitch, let us help you find your new favorite wine!!

Dalliance Red Wine

Dalliance!

Dalliance Lake County Red Wine 2010 - Far From A Boring Blend

46% Zinfandel, 18% Barbera, 17% Syrah, 14% Tempranillo and 5% Grenache from Lake County, California.

The 2010 Dalliance Lake County Red Wine begins with a delightful aroma of strawberry, blackberry, raspberry, cinnamon and vanilla. Tasting the wine reveals a smooth, fruity blend with lots of different flavors -- this wine has a lot of character. Molasses, strawberry, cinnamon, blackberry and a little spice highlight this sweet and jammy blend. The finish is dry and grippy with caramel and sweet berry notes that linger for a long time. A very interesting blend that is far from boring! The wine also holds up wonderfully on day 2.

Review: The Reverse Wine Snob.

Jelly Jar Zinfandel

2010 Old Vine Zinfandel
Old Vine Zinfandel - Jelly Jar

The 2010 vintage was picked on October 13th.  After hand-sorting and destemming the clusters, we gave the grapes a five-day, whole-berry cold soak for maximum flavor and color extraction. After fermenting the wine for about one week in stainless steel, we aged it for 10 months in 30% new French oak to add complexity to the rich fruit character.

True to its varietal, this Zinfandel exhibits ripe aromas and flavors of raspberry, black cherry and pomegranate. Silky from entry to finish, well balanced and good acid make it a perfect food wine.
