Meander Cabernet Sauvignon
Winemaker Amy Aiken’s passion is producing Cabernet Sauvignon, and it shines through in this lovely wine whose grapes are sourced from Morisoli Vineyard in Rutherford, CA (50%) and St. Helena, CA (50%). This wine was aged for 22 months in 100% French oak, 75% new. It has aged well in the bottle, with balanced, soft flavors of blackberry, cherry, chocolate, and spices.

If that sounds appealing, believe me, it is. This is a fabulous effort. At many estates, this would be the top wine; here it is the second label. Incidentally, Prince of Hearts is the most fairly priced among the second wines of Napa Valley’s elite properties. The 2010 is 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and a drop of Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. Rated 90+

A bouquet of cassis liqueur, graphite, violets and smoke introduces the wine to bold blackberry, blueberry and plum flavors with subtle spice, tobacco and leather accents giving a supple lush mouthfeel. The finish reveals polished tannins with a perfect balance of vanilla and toasted oak.
