Chateau de Brondeau- French Wine of the Month

Mostly Merlot, this is a tasty little red wine whose fruit forward characteristics show some of the benefits of the 2009 vintage. The nose is cotton candy and strawberry. The color is dark magenta. The vibrant, quick hitting fruit is mostly of the red style, like strawberry and cranberry. Exhibits some of that Bordeaux style earthy minerality. Still pretty young, there is a slight bitterness, maybe from tannins, that should dissipate with some bottle age. Nicely integrated and complete. The ripe finish is spicy, blackberry with graphite and minerals.
