Betsy's Backacher, California Lot 9
25% Syrah, 17% Carignane, 15% Merlot, 13% Alicante Bouschet, 11% Cabernet Franc, 9% Malbec, 7% Petite Syrah, & 3% Mourvedre.
Named after the mountainside vineyard, this was originally made as a special treat for their friends and family members who helped them during harvest. When word got out how great this tasted at the end of a hard days' work they were inundated with requests for it so they had to make it one of their regular offerings. This serious but fun-loving, drink-me-now house wine is great by itself and also with barbeque, pizza or other richly flavored foods.
